CHARLOTTE TILBURY BEAUTY SECRETS STRAIGHT FROM THE TOPSHOP RUNWAY

It takes more than great clothes to create a runway show that turns heads. In fact, it takes a village. Topshop shut down Trafalgar Square at the weekend with its stellar comeback catwalk. From OG it-girl Cara Delevingne in the front row to an iconic London location and the return of the Joni jean – everything screamed Topshop's heyday. Including the beauty looks, which were created by none other than Charlotte Tilbury. If you ever wanted to be a Topshop girl growing up (let’s be honest, who didn’t?), lock in because we got all the goss from the show’s lead makeup artist, Ria Cardosi. She gives us the inside scoop of what it’s like working a runway and how she created those iconic looks.

Ria says, 'I applied the Magic Hydrator Mist to quickly give a boost of hydration to the skin (we don’t have lots of time backstage!), followed by Magic Water Cream to lock in the moisture.

'[Then] I used the Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint to the high points of the face to add some glow and coverage, and Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer lightly on any areas that needed [a bit more] coverage or perfecting (redness or blemishes). I love using a mixture of brushes and my hands to really press the products in so they’re undetectable!'

Ria says, 'It’s an unreal-skin summer so I HAD to use this iconic duo: Unreal Blush Stick in shade Berry Glow on the cheeks for a naturally flushed boy-blush effect and the Unreal Lips Healthy Glow Nectar Oil (in strawberry and cherry) pressed into the lips to hydrate and add a little tint.

'The key to the look was the lashes. We made a custom shade using the Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara in Dream Pop mixed with the Rock N Kohl eyeliner in Fig Smoulder. We coated the lashes in this for a bold lash look – it felt very old-school Topshop!'
