WHO WILL BE THE NEXT BOND?
By Flo Bellinger, 8 September 2025
Ever since Daniel Craig popped his clogs on Rami Malek’s biohacking island of terror, the fate of James Bond’s future has been swirling in the minds of millions. In fact, the question of who will take over as Britain’s favourite spy has become new-age folklore. If you’re tired of everyone asking who the next Bond will be, we can’t say you’re on your own. But we’d be amiss not to throw in our two cents on the topic – especially when the men fronting this rumour-mill are all so impeccably dressed. In that vein, we asked the Editorial Team to offer up their 007 predictions and preferences. Keep scrolling for all the eligible contenders worth keeping on your radar.
TIMOTHÉE CHALAMET

Kicking off with an unlikely casting, Timothée Chalamet’s name has been circling in the Bond ring for several months now – largely due to his award-winning acting chops and undeniable skills as a Hollywood frontman. From Dune to Wonka, Timmy is a crafted chameleon and can certainly hold his own at the top of a call sheet. '007 might be famous for his rugged good looks, British accent and penchant for a good martini – all things that don’t necessarily invoke Timothée’s slight, American screen presence – but you can’t deny he brings anyone to life with convincing finesse,’ says Junior Editor, Emma. ‘Despite being at the height of his fame, he morphed into Bob Dylan so well I forgot who I was watching in A Complete Unknown. I don’t doubt he’d do the same thing with James Bond.’
AARON TAYLOR-JOHNSON

Arguably the favourite to fill Daniel Craig’s capacious boots, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is mentioned by almost every media outlet when it comes to Bond predictions. It’s easy to see why: he’s British, incredibly good-looking, and knows his way around a good suit. Plus, we all saw those fighting skills in Kick Ass and Bullet Train – so any future villains would have their work cut out for them. Given his expansive filmography and beloved status in the UK, Aaron won’t have difficulty winning over 007 fans. And even those who’ve never watched the movies – like Editorial Manager Jazmin – will find no issues with his casting. ‘I don’t need to watch Bond to know Aaron Taylor-Johnson is the perfect man for the job.’ Case closed.
CALLUM TURNER

Another worthy Brit (and boyfriend of the century) is Callum Turner. ‘He’s proven his acting capabilities in Masters of the Air and Fantastic Beasts, whilst harnessing a successful modelling career and never wavering in his support of fiancée Dua Lipa,’ says ASOS writer Ayis. Besides his effortlessly cool wardrobe, which largely involves a roster of casual-yet-elevated staples paired with a quietly confident demeanour, Callum’s stardom is relatively understated compared to some of the bigger names on this list. ‘That makes him the ideal candidate for a license to kill. He’s well-known and well-loved, but there’s no risk of a huge A-lister overpowering the role.’
JOSEPH QUINN

Ah, Joseph Quinn – when it comes to great roles, you never fail to provide. From his breakout role in Stranger Things to an impending stint at the Beatles biopic, this British actor has all the makings of a great Bond. Not to mention his affinity for great tailoring. ‘Joseph Quinn seems reliable enough to protect a building and top-secret documents, which is somehow both reassuring and ridiculously hot,’ says Junior Editor, Lizzie. ‘He’s gone from a metalhead in Stranger Things to a vitamin-D-lacking emperor in Gladiator II – if that doesn’t scream range, what does?’
DEV PATEL

From one range-master to another – Dev Patel has swooned the world with his varied roles in everything from action-packed Monkey Man to tearjerker Lion. And with an enviable archive of great red-carpet style to match his momentous CV, it’s safe to say Dev has come a long way from his humble beginnings on Skins. ‘He might not be the bookies’ favourite, but he’s certainly mine,’ says Writer Flo. ‘He’s a great runner – crucial for those infamous Bond chase scenes – a skilled actor, and a British national treasure. If you ask me, those are all key ingredients for the perfect 007.’
