TOPS TO WEAR AT A FESTIVAL

This summer it’s all about self-expression. Which is handy, given it grants us free rein to do whatever we like with our wardrobes. Combine this carefree attitude with festival season’s maximalist approach, and you’ve got a recipe for experimental style. We’re talking bold printed shirts, loud colourful tops and unusual textures. Been eyeing something but felt too apprehensive to wear it at the local pub? Now’s the time to try it.

SHOES TO WEAR AT A FESTIVAL

The perfect festival shoe strikes a balance between comfort and style. And yes, we know everyone says that about shoes, but it’s particularly important when you’re walking around a muddy field for several days. To avoid sore feet and keep you dancing until the early hours, festival shoes should be waterproof, durable and well cushioned. Trainers are always a safe bet for festivals, as are welly boots (though be prepared to line them with thick socks). And with vintage athleisure a go-to this summer, anything hike-adjacent is a great investment – like the Salomon XT-Whisper or anything adidas Terrex.

What accessories should you pack for a festival? Well, that’s the fun part. Sunglasses, hats, embellished belts and bright socks – the accessorising opportunities are endless at a festival. This is the time to embolden your everyday pieces with bold accents and have FUN. To prepare for however your festival unfolds, make sure you have a few things covered. Sunglasses are a must, with futuristic wrap-around frames always a bestseller. A no-fuss bag is also vital, with gorpy crossbody bags and bright pops of colour bringing a little something extra to your outfit.

CO-ORDS TO WEAR AT A FESTIVAL

If you’re tight on packing space, a co-ord is a great option for men's festival clothes options. Not only do they sort your whole look in one swoop, co-ords also have mix-and-match potential. Lightweight fabrics like linen are a good choice for hot weather, keeping you cool whilst looking crisp and clean. You can never go wrong with an old-school adidas tracksuit. Reach for a bold windbreaker jacket for that retro edge – and you’ll thank yourself for the extra layer once the sun goes down.

Come what may, there’s a good chance your festival season will be a little… damp. British summertime loves to throw a curveball where the weather’s concerned, so it’s best you’re ready for it. Weatherproof festival essentials will keep you warm, dry and out all night – whether it’s men's waterproof jackets that don’t drown your look (no pun intended), or a backpack that’ll keep all your valuables safe and sound. Trust us, if you take note of anything on this list, these weatherproof staples should be top priority.
