‘Heritage and 90s influences underpin the season, where suede is the key material and chocolate is the ultimate colour of the moment,’ says Senior Stylist, Megan Johnson. ‘The look is defined by knee high boots with sleek chisel toes and understated underset heels.’ Among them, riding boots with barely-there heels are having a moment, an easy-going update to equestrian styling. Wearing this down-to-earth design with boho-inspired neutrals – like @laurencrowe88 has done – results in a festive market-ready look.

#2: SLOUCHY BOOTS

Speaking of boho, its winter evolution – led by the slouchy boot – marks a shift in fashion’s mood. Prim-and-polished visuals are being swapped for relaxed, romantic ease – the kind Sienna Miller and Kate Moss were known for in the early 00s. Even labels historically loyal to prep, like Ralph Lauren and Zimmermann, loosened up for AW25. Both collections turned traditional riding silhouettes into boho cold-weather boots – thanks to lived-in wrinkles, neutral leathers and volumized proportions.

If you couldn’t get enough of kitten heels during S/S, you’ll be pleased to know they’ve evolved into boot form for A/W. And while we’ll miss the floral applique and girly embellishments, these warm winter boots deliver just as much style – from the office to after-dark plans. For styling inspo, @devinagohil shows how to transition summer staples – like jorts – seamlessly into your cold-weather wardrobe. With some pops of burgundy with a moto jacket, this look is exactly how to make a statement this season.

#4: CURVED-HEEL BOOTS

Curved-heel boots have mostly gone undetected on the fashion radar, until now. These aren’t your standard, run-of-the-mill style; the heel is experimental and demands clothes to match its sculpted energy. Statement tailoring is the move – like the kind you’d drool over while watching All’s Fair. Think waist-cinching blazers with sharp shoulders, corsets layered on top and sequinned skirts.

#5: SQUARE-TOE BOOTS

Sharp, angular square-toe boots offer an edgy, contemporary take on minimalism. They’ve got slightly masculine feels, making them perfect for balancing hyper-femme pieces – think flowy maxi skirts and mini dresses. Waterproof boots in this shape are practical for winter weather and don’t sacrifice any style points, too. Just make like @bella.lilyy and style them with a chunky knit whenever you’re tackling the cold.
