HOW TO STYLE JORTS THIS SUMMER

Love them or hate them, jorts have been on the fashion agenda for a while now. A portmanteau of ‘jeans’ and ‘shorts’, they’re literally a denim short, just longer and baggier than your average. The skater-style silhouette can seem tricky to style, but we promise it’s easier than it looks – and we’re here to prove it. Whether you’re looking for an off-duty outfit or something for evening plans, there’s a pair of jorts for it. Keep reading to see just how easy it is to style them.

#1: CLASSIC DENIM JORTS

An Outfit With Denim Jorts

Two summer trends that aren’t going anywhere anytime soon are boho and western. Tap into them with a classic pair of denim jorts for all your weekend plans – think festivals, brunches and afternoons in the park. Team them with a romantic-feeling top and cowboy boots to cement the boho look, and add summer’s number one accessory: sunglasses.

#2: BERMUDA JORTS

An Outfit With Bermuda Jorts

For an outfit that gives off-duty cool girl, choose a Bermuda style. They’re a baggy jort that's perfect for casual plans, but can just as easily be taken from day to night. Balance out the loose fit with a slimline top and opt for low-profile trainers like the adidas Tokyos with a complimentary colour palette. Any bag will complete the look – this slouchy shoulder style will look put-together but match the off-duty vibe too.

#3: WHITE JORTS

An Outfit With White Jorts

Nothing says holiday like a white jort. They work for day and evening, which means less packing, but for the perfect golden-hour outfit try adding some colour with your top. Style the look with sandals – a flat thong pair give comfort and cool factor – and statement jewellery.

#4: STATEMENT JORTS

The rule of thumb when you’re styling statement pieces is to keep the rest of your look simple. These dill-green jorts are in a standout (and trending) shade, so keep the rest of the outfit low key in a monochrome palette. But low key doesn’t mean boring – headscarves and ballet flats give a fun ultra-femme vibe to the look.

Ok, so the definition of jorts may be jean shorts, but if adidas decides to bring out a sporty jort (in the print of the season, we might add), we’re going to listen. You can go full sports mode with these or add a little high-low symmetry with a hyper-feminine top, like we have with this shirred style. Athletic accessories will accentuate the look, too.
