4 MICRO TRENDS WE'RE LOVING FOR SUMMER
By Symone Keisha, 9 June 2025
As much as we're fans of the huge trends that take over an entire season, your FYP and everything else in between, we'll admit that we've got a soft spot for the micro trends, too. They might not be everywhere but when you do spot them in the wild, they have a certain if-you-know-you-know energy we just can't get enough of. This summer, we've spotted four micro trends that need your undivided attention. Scroll for the lowdown.
#1: BANGLES

Statement anything is an absolute vibe, but bangles? They're the perfect finisher to baby tees, summer dresses and your night-out looks – it's officially the season of oversized accessories. The best part about this micro trend is that every finish counts: resin, gold-tone hardware, wooden... you see where we're going with this. The best styling advice we could give you – wear them stacked for dimension, and mix and match the textures.

#2: CUTWORK TOPS

Disclaimer: you're going to be hearing the word 'cutwork' a lot this summer. A side-effect of the boho resurgence, cutwork – also known as broderie anglaise – blouses will be your best friend as we head into warmer weather. They're a touch more elevated than a basic tee, but perfect for day plans as well as into the evening, and don't forget all those festivals you've got booked in. Style them with your favourite denim and suede accessories to capture the boho charm.

#3: SEASHELL BAGS

If you're heading on your annual Euro-summer trip, sunning it up with a staycay or none of the above, bring the sea to you with your accessories. This emerging trend is going to be huge for summer, especially paired with wedding-guest looks and sunset styling on holiday. Whether you opt for a woven cross-body or a metallic clutch that looks fresh from Ariel's treasure trove, it doesn't matter – just make sure it's shell shaped.

#4: FRINGING

Fringing is another trend reflective of boho, but also western styling, and with the Cowboy Carter tour in full swing and the visual identity of Sabrina Carpenter's Manchild resting firmly in country territory, it's fair to say fringing is a micro trend worth investing in. Take yours across shorts, skirts, dresses and accessories – and don't skimp on the textures, too. Whether it's a crochet knit or something silky, the priority is fringe and lots of it.
