WHY PARIS IS THE UNOFFICIAL CITY OF FESTIVAL SEASON

Everybody’s talking about World Music Day right now, and this year, Paris is at the centre of the conversation. While you know the French capital for its croissants and effortlessly-cool style, you might not know that the city turns streets, museums and cafes into literal stages, with big-name artists and DJs performing to festival crowds – all for free. Whether you’re stage-hopping across the arrondissements or soaking up a new band in a local square, expect Paris to put on an unreal music takeover like you’ve never seen before. And if you're lucky enough to be there for it, we've got three festival looks that'll give you a certain je ne sais quoi.

#1: ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC

A collage of an outfit with a band t shirt

If you're heading to a music festival, why not wear the music? You're set to hear a whole heap of genres – from reggae to jazz to hip-hop – so it makes complete sense to throw on a tee with your favourite band or artist for a casual look. When it comes to fit, oversized is best. Tuck yours into a mini skort and pair with grungy trainers c/o Converse. You’ll be comfortable all day without skimping on style.

#2: SAY IT WITH YOUR CHEST

A collage of an outfit featuring a France print baby tee

While World Music Day is celebrated all over the world, it's Paris that really put the festival on the map. To show your appreciation, a France baby tee will get you major points. We're really into the powder blue and yellow contrast this crop top brings – it's a summer cool-girl colour combination that we'll be repeating all season. Match the palette with another summer must-have: the maxi skirt. Plus, complete the look with a bag to hold all your on-the-go beauty essentials

#3: MAKE IT COMFY BUT COOL

If in doubt, going for a comfortable relaxed look is key – and nothing screams comfy more than a tracksuit. For this occasion, opt for the adidas Firebird pants – they’re elevated enough to forgo any overly casual connotations, and they’ve been a huge hit this year (just ask your FYP). A scarf-style top brings the summer energy and the matching trousers are a total win if you’re after a co-ordinated look. Finish with a colour-pop bag in trending buttermilk and you're good to go. The only question to ask yourself now is which look are you going for?
