LONG LIVE THE ADIDAS SHORT

The adidas 3-stripe has embedded itself in the modern fashion landscape, from the iconic Firebird tracksuit to the ever-pervasive footwear line-up. But with the sun (finally) making an appearance, we want to take a closer look at a piece that's been flying under the radar, until now. Shorts. The perfect switch-up from trackpants for the onset of summer, adidas shorts are set to become a staple – here are five ways to style them.
SWEET COLOUR COMBOS
Butter yellow is (still) having a moment, and rightfully so. Styling-wise, we’ve been taking note of SS25's coolest colour combinations – chocolate brown was the obvious choice to pair our favourite sprinter shorts with. Go big on texture with a suede jacket and knee-highs, perfect for breezy days or even a festival.

If colour isn't your thing, you simply can't go wrong with an all-black look. We’ve doubled up on 3-stripes here with a matching Adicolor jacket and shorts. Skip the sneakers and opt for something a little more formal like chunky loafers. Soften the look with super-femme details like frilly socks, a glossy lip – courtesy of our favourite K-beauty brand – and a slicked-back pony.

PRINT OF THE SEASON
We have a thing for animal print, and it looks like adidas does too. In the style of the season (we love you, jorts!), these leopard-print shorts are a big look. With a pair so stand-out, stripping back the rest of your look is key – choose a fitted tank and low-key trainers to complete the ‘fit and let the print do the talking.

So good we had to feature them twice, the adidas Sprinter shorts are a must for summer. This time around, we chose the brightest shade we could. For a look best suited to off-duty days or the beach, a graphic tee is the perfect choice. Our advice? Go oversized. Short shorts and a baggy tee is the best kind of contrast. Match your tee to your accessories with a faux-lily hair clip.

Pinstripes? From adidas? Major. Not just your favourite sports brand, they’ve got smart-casual down too. To achieve a cool high-low mashup, offset the formality of the pinstripe shorts with a rugby shirt. Clashing stripes may seem risky, but with a similar colour palette, you’re golden. A colour-pop is appropriate here, so turn to your trusted Sambas to give your look a citrus boost.
