BRITT LOWER IS THE SEVERANCE AESTHETIC

If Severance and chill is your idea of a good time, you’re going to love this one. Being set in a monotonous office, corpcore’s the uniform for the characters, but nobody nails the look quite like resident rebel Helly and her IRL counterpart Britt Lower. From the red carpet to day-to-day moments, Britt wears checks, tailoring and heels like it’s her day job. She's the poster girl of the Severance aesthetic, and we’re looking to her for style lessons.

#1: GREY IS THE NEW BLACK

Britt’s suit from Emilia Wickstead's SS25 collection gave us the sign that grey’s the next big thing, and Doechii’s three Grammys ‘fits confirmed it. With a boxy oversized fit and an ultra-subtle knotless tie, Britt’s look for The Late Show pays homage to the understated uniformity of 90s corpcore. The John Lennon sunnies and her signature red hair add a statement touch.

#2: FOLLOW THE THOM BROWNE TRENDS

Only one brand comes immediately to mind when you think of the Severance aesthetic and all its subcores: Thom Browne. While attending the SS25 show during NYFW, Britt wore a mid-length checked dress with all the cultural signifiers of a seasoned office siren – a tailored silhouette, knee-high socks, court heels and even a humble updo.

#3: ADD FORMAL TOUCHES

But in 2025, this aesthetic doesn’t have to be so traditional. For her Tribeca Festival appearance, Britt tapped the shoulder of Tanner Fletcher, whose Wes Anderson-esque approach to tailoring resulted in a more discreetly corpcore-influenced look. Instead of a classic shirt, she went sheer with a statement organza blouse. Helly would 100% be thrown out of the Lumon office if she showed up in this look, but it gets a perfect score from us.

#4: BUTTONS ARE THE KEY ACCENT

Nothing screams preppy and professional quite like buttons, and Britt’s Severance UTA screening look proves that. Even the most casual of tops can be elevated with a buttoned placket and some structured denim. We’re taking notes from her use of colour too – break up bold colours like green and red with dark-wash jeans.
