HOW TO DO CORPCORE, ACCORDING TO DOECHII

She won the Grammy for Best Rap album for her mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, lit up the stage at Camp Flog Gnaw, earned a shoutout from Kendrick Lamar and she’s now the (unofficial) face of corpcore – we’re talking about Florida-born rapper Doechii, of course. In an interview with Dazed, her stylist Sam Woolf said the star’s shift from y2k-obsessed to the CEO of 'suiting, tailoring, office siren' was sparked by a mix of ABNH’s grown-up themes and her love of 90s hip-hop aesthetics. Doechii doesn’t only serve on the red carpet, she makes it her full-time job. For the 67th annual Grammy awards, Doechii grabbed everyone’s attention (and her award) in three custom Thom Browne looks, all in a shade we’re now dubbing Grammys Grey. The toned-down colour is dialled up with the brand’s OTT garment construction and details that complement Doechii’s energetic persona ft. her tilted hat, the crinoline and those striking platform heels.

According to Sam Woolf, Doechii’s moodboard is overflowing with brands like Miu Miu, Vivienne Westwood, Wales Bonner, Burberry and, of course, Thom Browne – all known for their fresh, innovative takes on tailoring.
