HOW TO STYLE YOUR FAVE ADIDAS ORIGINALS THIS AUTUMN
By Ayis Stephen-Diver, 23 September 2024
The fashion girlies know that adidas Originals' low-rise trainers are here to stay – from city-staple OG Sambas to statement Gazelles, these slick wardrobe chameleons add a cool touch to every outfit. If you’re looking for some styling tips, we’ve got you! Refinery29’s Fashion Editor, Ebony-Renee Baker, has curated three outfits (complete with adidas Originals, of course) for you to take into your autumn rotation and beyond – scroll for the deets.

#1 FOR THE ELEVATED EVERYDAY
Let’s do the maths: three silver stripes + plenty of green accents = an unforgettable pair of Gazelle Bolds. To balance this 'fit for the office, team yours with adidas Firebird trousers, a blazer and a graphic tee.
Ebony-Renee's styling tip: ‘Shapes and silhouettes are just as important as colour – an oversized tee and jacket is good at toning down over-the-top trousers to make them more daytime friendly.’

#2 FOR THE SEASONAL TRANSITION
When late summer meets early autumn, the weather is anyone’s guess (read: get the right layers at the ready). Sambas go with *everything*, so a summery gingham co-ord paired with the classic adidas Firebird track top and 00s-style sunnies is the perfect way to nail transitional dressing.
Ebony-Renee's styling tip: ‘Match the colours of your outfit with your trainers’ three stripes (or statement laces) for an effortlessly put-together vibe.’

#3 FOR A NIGHT OUT
Not big on heels? A dress and trainers can look just as good (if not better) on a night out. Extend the life of that dress you bought for a summer wedding – these green-and-white Sambas tone down your whole look, so you can wear a ruffle midi dress without feeling overdressed. Oh, and you can even hop on a bike in this outfit… further proof that trainers are *always* a good idea. Just layer with a leather jacket or trench coat when the temps dip.
Ebony-Renee's top tip: ‘You don’t always have to match your outfit’s aesthetic to your shoes. Despite this dress being hyper-feminine and formal, the retro-sporty Sambas make it more interesting, transforming the entire look.’
