INSPIRATION AND ADVICE
THE TENNIS-INSPIRED VINTAGE FINDS YOU SHOULD ADD TO YOUR WARDROBE
By Lizzie Griffin, 8 July 2024

Former Italian tennis champion Sergio Tacchini founded his namesake label in 1966, introducing colour and pattern to the standard all-white uniforms that dominated the scene at the time. So, what better brand to rock courtside? This abstract-print top with a pop of orange would look stunning paired with a white skort and the (controversial) shoes of the summer: mesh ballet pumps.

Like your favourite pair of jeans, a denim skirt has *range*. Style it up just like Alexa Cheung did with a tailored waistcoat and matching blazer, or return the serve with a sporty adidas racer-back that Emma Raducanu would approve of.

Flowers have had an association with the big tournament since 1886, when the iconic Venus Rosewater Dish was awarded to the Ladies' Singles Champion who won against their challenger – and the tradition hasn't stopped. Whether you’re eating strawberries on Murray Mound or watching the games from the grounds, bring the floral feels (and designer style) with these 90s Ralph Lauren jeans. A simple tee and trainers are the perfect styling heroes to finish the look.

Vintage Champion One Size baseball cap in navy, £24
No tennis outfit would be complete without an accessory. Our verdict? Wearing a logo-heavy cap means you can show you know your stuff about streetwear legends (or at least look like you do) and shield yourself from the rays. Game, set, match.

Vintage Levi's 501 Size W25 L30 Straight Jeans in Blue, £29.95
Levi's have always been that girl and we love the worn-in look of these vintage 501s. The styling options with these are literally endless, but we'd recommend doubling up on the denim (one of AW24's hottest trends, btw!) and adding a matching vest.
