Fashion's love affair with velvet isn't over – not even a little bit judging by the latest arrival from the experts in Oregon. Say hello to the Nike Velvet pack.
Nike is no stranger to a cool, textural twist. After all, this is the brand that made knitted trainers a thing. This latest material masterpiece isn’t as much of a technical innovation as the Flyknit was, but it’s a certified game-changer when it comes to your shoe rack – and what’s really more important, huh?
This plush pack features a sextet of sneakers remade in smooth velvet, with two of the Swoosh’s earliest creations – the Cortez and Blazer – turning out in three tonal colourways: Dark Raisin, Summit White and black. They might have a combined age of 89, but they’re looking bang on-trend in 2017.

So, what to wear with these contemporary remixes of retro classics? Answer: some serious summer colours. Pair two block shades off against each other with acid yellow up top and petrol blue trousers courtesy of Dickies’ latest drop. Alternatively, bring some 70s flair into play with an old-school take on the tracksuit and you’ll be rolling like the smoothest of operators.
