5 WAYS TO WEAR BLACK JEANS
By Ayis Stephen-Diver, 10 November 2025
Baggy, flared, barrel or straight – black jeans will always reign supreme in our winter wardrobes. And we can’t say we’re surprised – colder weather calls for darker tones, after all. But black jeans have never been revered quite like their blue counterparts, and we’re here to rewrite the rulebook.

ARE BLACK JEANS IN STYLE FOR MEN IN 2025?
Absolutely. The evidence is everywhere, especially among Hollywood’s biggest names. Just look at Timothée Chalamet who chooses to mix up textures with leather-look jeans and a sleeveless hoodie. Callum Turner and Jeremy Allen White's off-duty looks often include dark-wash denim, too. The amount of black jeans we’ve spotted on the average A-lister simply can’t be quantified.
#1: BLACK ON BLACK
Black is the easiest colour to capitalise on – which means going monochrome is always a good styling idea (especially when you’re tight on time). Our top tip? Experiment with textures. A black trucker jacket – ideally in suede or corduroy – layered over black casual jeans adds both dimension and an off-duty, workwear-inspired energy. Trade in your trainers for boots – these ASOS DESIGN wellies come with a chunky, sporty sole, great for peeking below the hem of your jeans.

#2: DON'T GO TRADITIONAL
Leather-look jeans have been elevating outfits for decades, especially when it comes to after-dark dressing. This ASOS DESIGN pair feature a party-ready lustre and slight flare – perfect for channelling 70s-style suave. Style it with a long-sleeve tee (to keep things toasty) or a shirt, with loafers for your feet. Topping off the look with a non-black denim jacket adds a touch of contrast. Hot take: double denim hits harder when the washes are mismatched.

#3: PLAY WITH KNITWEAR
Don’t sleep on knitwear when it comes to your black denim outfits. Knitwear with attitude – like this COLLUSION jumper featuring a scorpion graphic – is an underrated pairing with baggy black jeans. To brighten up the look, pick trainers in a vibrant colourway – like green Nike Shox. A silver necklace really ties the ‘fit together, too. And this cross pendant nods to the grunge-streetwear crossover you’ve probably seen all over socials.

#4: CHANNEL SKATER ENERGY
Want your denim to make a statement? Any pair will stand out when they’ve got a loud logo plastered front and centre. Showing off its iconic logo, this Ice Cream pair is the perfect example. Teaming it with a double-layer T-shirt (like the ones you’d see in 00s films) or a loose-fitting tee gives effortless skater-cool. Beyond their comfort, PUMA Speedcats’ low-profile silhouette complements this sporty outfit perfectly.

Runway-ready? Maybe. Street-ready? Definitely. If you haven’t already hopped on the barrel-leg wave yet, consider this your sign. The ballooned proportions of these Topman black jeans look amazing with other oversized pieces, like a hoodie or sweatshirt. Trust us, this weather calls for seriously snug outerwear, and anything with a borg texture fits the bill. And of course, it couldn’t be a city-ready outfit without Timberlands.
