WHY PARIS IS THE UNOFFICIAL CITY OF FESTIVAL SEASON

Everybody’s talking about World Music Day right now, and this year, Paris is at the centre of the conversation. While you know the French capital for its croissants and effortlessly-cool style, you might not know that the city turns streets, museums and cafes into literal stages, with big-name artists and DJs performing to festival crowds – all for free. Whether you’re stage-hopping across the arrondissements or soaking up a new band in a local square, expect Paris to put on an unreal music takeover like you’ve never seen before. And if you're lucky enough to be there for it, we've got three festival looks that'll give you a certain je ne sais quoi.

#1: ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC

A collage of an outfit with a band tank

If you're heading to a music festival, why not wear the music? You're set to hear a whole heap of genres – from reggae to jazz to hip-hop – so it makes complete sense to throw on a tee featuring your favourite band or artist for a casual look. In a summer-ready tank silhouette, this boxy-fit vest is perfect for sunning it up at a street festival. Make it the focus with an all-black casual look and don’t forget the shades!

#2: SAY IT WITH YOUR CHEST

While World Music Day is celebrated all over the world, it's Paris that really put the festival on the map. To show your appreciation, a graphic tee with a ‘France’ print will get you major points. Complete the look with a summer essential – jorts. This raw-wash pair sits at a longer length than usual, making them perfect for an all-day festival. Just throw on some Nike accessories to give your 'fit that headliner energy.

#3: MAKE IT COMFY BUT COOL

If in doubt, going for a comfortable relaxed look is key – and nothing screams comfy more than a tracksuit. For this occasion, opt for the adidas Firebird pants – they’re elevated enough to forgo any overly casual connotations and they’ve been a huge hit this year (just ask your FYP). You can afford to go bright with this one, it is a festival after all. The green-meets-yellow contrast c/o of the iconic three stripes is a moment, so match the palette with green accents throughout the rest of your ‘fit. The only question to ask yourself now is which look are you going for?
