THE TRENDS YOU'LL BE WEARING IN 2026
By Flo Bellinger, 1 January 2026
Forget green juice and journalling – the new-year reset starts in your wardrobe. After a year defined by headline-making creative shake-ups, fashion is entering 2026 with fresh momentum. From Jonathan Anderson’s much-anticipated Dior debut to Matthieu Blazy’s new chapter at Chanel, the industry’s game of musical chairs has injected the runways with a renewed sense of confidence. And thankfully, that means we can expect a year of trends that feel expressive, optimistic and unapologetically fun.
From punchy patterns and zesty colour palettes to sporty references, sculptural hems and dialled-up accessories, these are the styles set to dominate fashion’s most coveted 2026 wish lists. Scroll on and start planning your reinvention.
BOLD PATTERNS

Polka dots and stripes dominated 2025, and it seems they’re here to stay. Only this time, everything’s getting bolder. Think oversized spots, unexpected colour combos, and clashing fabrics. If last year was about flirting with print, the next 12 months are your chance to commit. Start small with a colourful statement scarf, or dive in headfirst with a museum-worthy print that'll transform your outfit into a masterpiece.

TASTY TONES

Keeping on theme, bold patterns look set to complement bright tones – specifically those of the edible variety. If your wardrobe could pass as a fruit bowl, you’re doing something right. Peach, tomato red and lemon and lime are leading the charge – all fresh and punchy shades that are mood-boosting by nature. Consider this your reminder that neutrals are always optional and dopamine dressing is very much back on the menu.

The obsession with varsity fashion isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, in fact it’s branching out. No longer confined to football jerseys and rugby shirts, game play is about to take over every corner of your outfit. Whether it’s sport-inspired footwear or statement football scarves, get ready to experiment with the pitch-side aesthetic.

BUBBLE HEMS

Bubble hems may be new to the trend cycle, but they’ve already made a lasting impression. When ASOS DESIGN’s balloon trousers dropped late last year, the internet collectively lost its mind – and now that exaggerated silhouette is expanding its reach. From skirts and trousers to blouses and dresses, it’s all about volume. Our styling mantra? The bigger the bubble, the better.

JUMBO ACCESSORIES

Finishing touches are getting the main-character treatment this year as quiet luxury peters out and loud accessories move in. We’re increasingly reaching for oversized pieces like bangle stacks and jumbo rings – completing the look with an OTT clutch or tote. These dialled-up accessories also have a vintage feel, as French combs and brooches enjoy a comeback. And after years of squeezing our personal belongings into a tiny handbag, we’ll admit this larger-than-life approach to dressing is refreshingly practical.
