INTRODUCING ASOS ARCHIVE: THESE DRESSES DESERVE A SECOND ERA
By Flo Bellinger, 5 August 2025
Well, there’s a reason ASOS is the ultimate dress destination. Not to toot our own horn, but we’ve launched some pretty iconic pieces over the years – and thanks to you they’ve been transformed into viral statements and lasting memories. We’ll admit we’ve been feeling nostalgic. So it felt only right to bring back 10 of our biggest dresses for a well-deserved second era. Featuring legends from 2017 to 2021, these bold silhouettes have been updated for your modern wardrobe.

“By bringing these dresses back, we’re giving everyone a chance to make them their own all over again.” – Executive Vice President, Vanessa Spence

ASOS ARCHIVE puff sleeve cuffed mini dress in dusky pink, £90
This dress made waves when it first dropped over five years ago – and we can see why. The dusty pink is universally flattering with a sweetheart neckline and voluminous sleeves that feel effortlessly feminine. The short length and sleek fit make it both modern and timeless in equal measure – so when Hattie Bourn (@hattiebourn) stepped out in it, there was no chance this wasn’t going viral. For today’s reboot? Pair with dark accessories – a chic leather bag and kitten heels will give this fairytale gown some edge.

ASOS ARCHIVE oversized midaxi dress in textured mesh in blue, £190
This is what you call making a statement. Whether you were wedding guest of honour or hosting the dinner party of the year, this famous blue dress turned some serious heads in 2020. Then Tara Maynard (@taramays25) wore it three years later and cemented its place in the ASOS hall of fame. Tulle and mesh are back in a big way, making this the perfect opportunity to revive this wardrobe icon for the third time. As we approach transitional-dressing season, the long sleeves make for an ideal occasion dress. Just add some understated heels and a clutch for a show-stopping look.

ASOS ARCHIVE paillette sequin mini dress with faux feather hem in blue, £120
It might be August, but this festive dress – first launched in December 2021 – is still as iconic as ever. Thanks to style queen Leonie Hanne (@leoniehanne), all of us were lusting over this sequin mini a few years ago. With spaghetti straps and a micro length, it works year-round despite the statement sparkle – and with layers of intricate feathers, it delivers serious movement on the dancefloor. We love this piece with layered statement jewellery and a strappy heel for summer night-out glam you won’t forget in a hurry.

ASOS ARCHIVE satin maxi dress with dropped waist and scarf detail in lime, £65
Haven’t you heard? All the cool girls are wearing neon. From Charli XCX’s brat green to Addison Rae’s bright pink accessories, this early-2000s colour palette is no longer confined to the dancefloor. So what better time to revisit a viral dress from summer 2018? This flowing maxi was famously styled by fashion editor Nana Acheampong (@styledbynana) in September 2019 and combines a chic neck scarf detail with elevated satin. The high slit balances the proportions for a luxurious yet modern silhouette we still can’t get enough of. Simply add some mini sunglasses and a statement bag for late Euro-summer elegance. Someone pass the spritz!
