THIS IS THE SHADE OF THE SEASON
By Flo Bellinger, 26 May 2025
Apologies if you’re still reaching for the butter dish, but the gluttonous yellow tones of last summer have a new rival on the horizon. With warm sunlit evenings and citrus-based drinks taking centre stage, it’s no surprise that orange is the latest shade to be seen in. According to Data, But Make It Fashion on Instagram, searches for this fruity colour have increased by 55% in the last twelve months – proof that all of us are keen to inject some vitamin C into our wardrobes. If you’re feeling inspired (if a little intimidated) by this vibrant fashion pivot, let us walk you through all the ways we plan on wearing orange this season.

WHY IS IT TRENDING?
Despite having a ‘difficult’ reputation when it comes to clothing, orange is arguably the biggest visual indicator that summer has arrived. From fresh orange juice to simmering sunsets and Mediterranean motifs, both the fruit and the colour are the perfect pick-me-up after a dreary start to the year. So it’s no surprise that we’re adding it to our sartorial arsenal. And if you needed any more proof it’s a showstopping shade, look no further than Zendaya’s iconic Golden Globes gown from earlier this year. She even doubled up with a copper hairstyle (we’re taking notes). Scroll to see how we're styling orange for summer.
