LAUREN NICOLE ON HER NEW EDIT, PARTY-SEASON STYLE AND 10 YEARS OF LOVING ASOS
By Ayis Stephen-Diver, 9 December 2024
Hey, Lauren Nicole! How did your love for fashion come about?
I come from a line of well-dressed and outspoken women. Growing up, I was inspired by their fashion choices and how they styled their hair, makeup, accessories and shoes. My mum, grandmother and aunties really shaped my love for fashion.
We love to hear it. You've been an ASOS lover for so long now, how did it feel to get your very own edit?
Truly a pinch-me moment. I've loved ASOS for well over a decade now. I'm so grateful.
Walk us through it and what influenced your picks?
Party season is truly my favourite time of the year. It allows me to be as bold and OTT as I want, so I picked pieces that were exactly that: playful, bold and OTT. That's me summed up, really.

Were there any challenges you faced while putting everything together?
I was lucky enough to have complete creative control. Sadly, I wasn't able to control the weather, so shooting this campaign in the freezing cold was a -10/10 experience. But we created magic, and I had a nice warm bath straight after.
Describe your style in three words.
Bold. Vibrant. Flirty.

ASOS DESIGN Curve disc sequin cami mini dress in gold, £120
Do you have any favourite pieces?
The gold sequin dress has my heart. An absolute masterpiece.
We love your bold colour palette. How do you navigate colour when building outfits?
I dress based on what brings me joy rather than what's trending or the colour of the season. This approach makes building outfits so much easier.
Aside from yourself (obvs), who's your biggest style inspiration and why?
Tracee Ellis Ross. If I could raid any celebrity's wardrobe, it would be hers. I love that she isn't afraid of colour or unusual silhouettes. Her style is effortlessly chic. She's an absolute icon to me.
Faux fur is a hit every autumn/winter, but this year it's been especially good. I'm loving all the oversized, voluminous, and colourful pieces we're seeing.
It's almost here, so what's your fashion vibe for 2025?
New year, same vibe: BOLD baby.
