THE MOST 2026 WAYS TO WEAR BOOTS
By Ayis Stephen-Diver, 12 January 2026
#1: CHELSEA BOOTS
While we haven’t specifically spotted Jennifer Lawrence in Chelsea boots (yet), her love for the next best thing – a chunky sole – is an open secret in Hollywood. So don’t be afraid to take a page out of her book when it comes to styling them in 2026. Jennifer has mastered the art of city dressing in every season, but her winter wardrobe is teeming with relaxed silhouettes and vibrant pops of colour. These ASOS DESIGN chocolate Chelsea boots deserve to be served up with one of 2026’s most anticipated shades – tomato red – in the form of cosy knitwear.

#2: KNEE-HIGH BOOTS

Everyone needs a good knee-high in their boot assortment, cue: the Topshop Nelly. If you’re not yet ready to let go of the western trend from summer 25, styling these black suede boots with boho details is the next best thing. Take it from Bella Hadid, NYC’s resident expert on all things style. While we'll admit a halter-neck and short-shorts aren’t the wisest of decisions right now, you can still take notes. Style yours with retro jewellery and monochrome pairings for an easy win.

#3: MOTO BOOTS
Moto boots had quite the summer, but they're just as popular this winter. Moto boot-lover and perpetual trendsetter Emily Ratajkowski is our inspiration of choice when it comes to styling them. With a basics rotation only comparable to that of Zoë Kravitz, she tends to pair hers with carefree tees and a carousel of shorts. You can do the same with some weather-conscious additions – layer on a rugged leather-look jacket and consider leg warmers or thick knee-high socks underneath your boots.

#4: POINTED-TOE ANKLE BOOTS

FKA Twigs is the queen of experimental, abstract fashion, but there's still space in her wardrobe for a minimalist boot. Brown and black pointed-toe ankle boots are a cornerstone of the 90s, but we’re doing it differently in 2026 by having fun with burgundy. You need not sport bug-eyed sunglasses or a half-shaven head to style these Pull&Bear stiletto heels, just keep them interesting with unique textures and asymmetric cuts – whether that’s in the form of a dress or a co-ord.
GET THE LOOK:
Pull&Bear Stiletto heel ankle boots in burgundy, £39.99
Topshop knitted co-ord skirt with asymmetric hem in oat, £40
Topshop knitted co-ord asymmetric top in oat, £38
Swarovski Irregular sunglasses with grey lens in black, £151
DesignB London mesh drop earrings in silver, £10
#5: SNAKESKIN BOOTS

No celebrity has endorsed snakeskin boots as frequently as Rihanna. She’s worn her favourite Amina Muaddi Barbara 105s with a graphic muscle tee, an emerald snakeskin maxi, an oversized parka and even some neutral corpcore. The latter look is arguably the most wearable of the bunch. The Topshop Tori comes in statement snakeskin, and its roomy calf allows jeans and trousers to be comfortably tucked in. So you can either let the boots peep underneath your trousers, or position them as the main attraction of your ‘fit.

Daisy London faux pearl pendant necklace in sterling silver, £69
