RED CARPET REPORT: MET GALA 2025

The crème de la crème of A-list ‘fit checks is here. Yes, the first Monday in May never comes to play, and this year’s Met Gala delivered. Unsurprisingly, the celebration of the Costume Institute's new exhibition, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, made for an especially epic evening. Inside the museum, a history of Black style over three centuries through the lens of dandyism was on full display. And on the red carpet, our fave faces proved they did their homework, showing up suited and booted in archival references, twists on tailoring and head-turning accessories. From A$AP to Colman, let’s see who nailed the dress code.

PHARRELL WILLIAMS

As a producer, performer and prolific fashion designer who always stays true to his signature steeze, Pharrell continued his reign as a certified menswear icon. Teaching us a style lesson as the night's co-chair, he embraced pearls (100,000 of them, to be exact) by way of a double-breasted blazer and his beloved flares. The team behind it? His crew at Louis Vuitton.

COLMAN DOMINGO

Did you really think Colman Domingo wouldn't have a mid-carpet outfit change? The undisputed king of tailoring entered the chat in a stunning blue cape by Valentino as a nod to legendary fashion journalist André Leon Talley, and then shifted his style to a windowpane blazer topped off with a polka-dot brooch. As we know, Colman is an established fan of 70s cuts, and this structured suit is bringing all of the summer RSVP ‘fitspo.

LEWIS HAMILTON

Fresh from hitting the tracks of the Miami Grand Prix, co-chair Lewis Hamilton paid tribute to African culture in a custom three-piece ivory suit from Wales Bonner. The evening's accessories nailed the assignment – vintage 80s brooches adorned his lapel and complementary beret, proving it's all in the details.

A$AP Rocky

A$AP ROCKY

Known globally for his OTT Met Gala moments, A$AP Rocky took his official co-chairing duties seriously this time around, rocking a Harlem-inspired suit custom-designed by AWGE (his creative agency). Intended to pay homage to Marmot jackets, the outer layer had technical details, while he brought the bling with a dazzling brooch, necklace and earrings. Of course, Rocky's outfit isn't the only reason the Fashion Killa made headlines...

BAD BUNNY

When it comes to the red carpet, Bad Bunny can do no wrong. Naturally, tonight was no exception. Benito arrived decked out in a chocolate brown Prada suit, teaming the 'fit with bedazzled gloves and a woven hat based on a Puerto Rican pava. And, he had to make a statement by bringing the largest accessory of the night: a Prada bowling bag that matched the look perfectly. The ideal mix of heritage and high fashion.
