AW24 DENIM DROP: 5 SHAPES TO KNOW
By Symone Keisha, 17 September 2024
If there’s one item that stays firmly in the rotation, no matter the season, it’s jeans. So for AW24, we're putting denim right in the spotlight, bringing you the very best washes and cuts to liven up your weekly roster. We talked to denim buyer Lucie to get all the insider details, so read on for our guide to your top 5 fits. New favourites, incoming...

#1: SLIM
We couldn't start a list of the best denim shapes for autumn without bringing slim jeans into the conversation. According to denim buyer Lucie, they’re a ‘versatile essential that pairs effortlessly with everything, making them a wardrobe must-have’. We couldn’t agree more. Slim from the thigh to the ankle, our AW24 iteration is crafted with some stretch to ensure comfort without compromising on design. Pair these with your sneakers, boots... basically any of your autumn favourites.

#2: TAPERED
If you like your denim with a bit more character, these are your guy. With a slightly looser fit at the thigh, the tapered style narrows from the knee down. And as Lucie says, ‘the slightly cropped cut makes them an easy choice to show off your favourite sneakers’. That’s right – time to get out those box-fresh kicks!

#3: BAGGY
Coming soon. Similar: Jack & Jones Eddie baggy jean in mid-blue wash, £27
If slimmer styles aren’t your thing, we have options. First up: the baggy fit. As the name suggests, these jeans have a looser cut, which levels up the comfort. The shape was originally designed as workwear but went on to be adopted by the hip-hop community in the 90s. In 2024, Lucie recommends this ‘casual, easy-going style’ for weekend plans or chill catch-ups with friends. And if you're after some styling tips, now's the perfect time to check out our Style Feed on 4 ways to style baggy jeans.

#4: SUPER BAGGY
Coming soon. Similar: Cheap Monday super wide-leg jeans in dark wash, £40
For days when baggy won't cut it, we raise you *The Super Baggy*. This ultra wide leg definitely brings the drama, and it's crafted from a stiffer, structured denim to ensure that silhouette holds. Lucie’s verdict? ‘These unique jeans are perfect for making a strong style statement and they mix comfort with added edge.’

#5: WIDE FLARE
Described by Lucie as a 'tapered thigh and a wide leg that expands dramatically from the knee’, the wide-flare cut is inspired by *that* iconic 70s shape, but with a modern streetwear edge. The styling choices? Just some of our favourite autumn '24 shoes. Balance the look with stacked loafers or chunky boots and your favourite oversized jacket.
