Hairstyle of the month #4
By Kasia Hastings, 29 May 2016
It’s been a rocky road for Justin Bieber’s hair so far this year, but in May he unveiled a buzz cut that was the best grooming move we saw all month.
Since the singer ditched his Baby helmet-shaped hair it’s fair to say that he’s favoured an experimental approach to his locks. He’s gone bleach blonde, revived the 90s boy-band bandana, rocked some questionable peroxide dreads and, most recently, shaved his head. Sure, we’ve seen Robert Pattinson, Zayn Malik and a few other grooming greats get clipper-happy before, but in 2016 the buzz cut belongs to Justin Bieber.
If one man could persuade you to part with your precious hair, it’s the guy who made sartorial Beliebers out of us all last year, and he makes a pretty strong case with this clean, low-maintenance, military-style trim. Bieber’s buzz cut involves a mixture of lengths – it’s longer up top, shorter at the sides and is given a technical edge with a professionally executed fade.
This style is great for receding hairlines, but doesn’t suit all head shapes so consider what lies beneath your mane before you go full Britney. To follow Bieber’s lead, ask your barber for an office-friendly number three or four on top and neat fade elsewhere, or follow our simple how-to video to go it alone at home.
