I know what you're thinking… stick-on nails at a festival = too much mayhem for you to handle. But, as a self-proclaimed clutz, I'm here to assure you that these Lime Crime babies aren't coming off for nothing. The glue is super-strong and no amount of hair washing, tent-pitching and bottle popping will change that. Plus, they're so shiny.
Considering myself an authority when it comes to glitter is an understatement (I've basically got a PhD in the stuff)… I've tried many a brand and I've got to say NYX = ranks pretty highly. The coverage is good – although you can apply more lightly if you want a more chilled-out look – and the pigment is really strong. Because it's a lighter texture, it's easy to build up with other colours or size of glitter, but, obviously, it gets everywhere. You've been warned.
This is one for the brave beauty babes. Metallic lip gloss is a pretty OTT look to pull off, but at a festi anything goes so now's the time to try it. The coverage and thickness of this NYX gloss is insanely good and the best part? It won't budge. No one wants to be reapplying make-up in a portaloo and while you might not care half-way through the night anyway, it's nice to know that you definitely don't need to. Note to self: take industrial make-up wipes.
This Stila eyeshadow has me seriously impressed. The liquid is thick and has a high ratio of glitter, meaning the result is a shimmery goodness that will more than brighten up your eyes on day two, or three, etc. It's pretty stubborn so will have you covered for a good few hours and fairly smudge-proof. It's a 'yes' from me.
When it comes to nail polish, Barry M delivers – and with every colourway you can think of, this Molten Metal collection is making a big case for the metallics. The wide brush means application is really easy (although applying any nail varnish prior to a festival is highly recommended). Go for one layer if you're wanting a sheer look, or do two coats for a higher impact. Fairly chip-proof, plus, it's a bargain.
