HOW TO STYLE NIKE AIR RIFTS
By Ayis Stephen-Diver, 4 August 2025
While trainers will always have a place on the style agenda, hybrid shoes are kind of having a moment. Think Puma Speedcat ballet flats, adidas Originals Samba Mary Janes or our current favourites, Nike Air Rifts. With their split toe design and textured grip tread, this revival of 1996’s most daring shoe silhouette is the it-girl obsession right now. If you’ve already copped a pair and need advice on styling Nike Air Rifts, have a scroll. If you need convincing, also have a scroll. We’ve put together three ways to wear these cloven-toe icons.
#1: INVEST IN CITY-READY STAPLES

Kitten heels and knee-high boots are traditionally considered the city girl must-haves, but this summer calls for a style that can withstand at least 10K steps (for all those hot-girl walks). A white pair of Rifts will keep you ready for anything and go perfectly with any colour mashup – like the trending mocha + pink. Roaming the streets in flowy maxi dresses and cardigans are the perfect way to romanticise summer’s end, and these Rifts are the ultimate companion.

#2: BLEND THE OLD WITH THE NEW

Silver shoes don’t have to be hard to style; if you’ve got a cargo skirt or trousers lying around post-festi season, you’re already one step ahead. While teaming your silver Rifts with a basic tank top, cami or T-shirt is failproof, a skin-hugging hoodie will instantly give 00s Gwen Stefani – and who doesn’t want to channel that? For any market-strolling motives on the cal, throw in a neutral-toned tote bag.

#3: ADD IN SOME ATHLEISURE

As Leonardo da Vinci once said, ‘sometimes simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’. Flared leggings, compression tanks and basic hoodies are a mainstay not only for their versatility but for how put-together they look whether you’re errand-running or gym-bound. For the former, some off-white Rifts are your go-tos – and they look especially good with monochrome outfits. Accessorise with a crossbody bag and some dainty jewellery for those spontaneous coffee runs.
