HOW TO STYLE POLKA DOTS

Yes – you are seeing spots, but don’t worry. 2026’s proliferation of polka dots, as spotted everywhere from Copenhagen Fashion Week to your favourite influencer’s wardrobe, is completely normal. Case in point: our adidas Originals x ASOS polka-dot set, which sold out near-instantly. We've got polka-dot dresses, polka-dot tops, polka-dot skirts... everything that's dotty. Patterns don’t get much more classic than polka dots, so there truly are countless ways to style them. Read on to see five of our faves, as seen on you.

#1: COLOUR-CLASHING POLKA DOTS

Big, bright colours have summer written all over them, especially primary colours of red, yellow and blue. @kathrynlucyoutfit’s gone for lipstick-red adidas Firebird shorts to go with her shirred polka-dot top, and added some blue statement earrings for good measure. You don’t need to do all three colours to get the essence of the look – two will do just fine.

#2: POLKA-DOT CO-ORDS

If you’re apprehensive about doing a head-to-toe polka-dot look, don’t be – @luisamuhs’s co-ord is a subtler, pared-back take on the graphic. The denim set has a tonal palette, and the subtle variations of brown keep it in chic territory. She’s styled it with a colour-coordinating bag and shoes.

Polka dots are the hero pattern of the 50s vintage aesthetic, so why not channel the Old Hollywood starlet vibe with another era-appropriate, very much trending style? We're talking capri pants. @emiliesaunders has gone for a sleek black pair with a polka-dot jacket up top. By matching her cream tank top to the spots, she’s making her monochrome look even more harmonious.

#4: BAG SOME POLKA-DOT ACCESSORIES

Don’t want to commit to head-to-toe polka dots? Head scarves, scrunchies and scarves are by far the easiest way to add some of the kitsch print into your ‘fit, but we’re especially big fans of a polka-dot bag moment. @linseyluong’s ludicrously capacious bag elevates her classic jeans and white tee combination. We love the buttermilk yellow Bershka style but are equally into the brand’s brown-and-pink version too.

@beffshuff has brought polka dots bang up to date by mixing and matching her colours. In this case, it’s spring’s most beloved hues, buttermilk and chocolate – how delicious is that? Her adidas SL72s are shaded in both colours, which tie the entire look together. She’s finished it off with a yellow bag.
