Brace yourself: capri pants are back with a vengeance this season and we’re not complaining. The knee-grazing style has ebbed and flowed in popularity for decades, first popping up in the 50s and 60s – Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe were spotted pairing theirs with white shirts and statement jewellery. The trend resurfaced in the 90s and again on the SS26 runways, so it's safe to say they're in it for the fashion long haul. But how to style capris? There are so many possibilities. Let us show you how to wear capri pants this summer:

Denim capri pants are surprise workhorses – they have the same casual cachet and styling potential as jeans and all of the power of your regular capris. Denim capri pants are especially ideal if your summer looks are on the boho end of the scale. Dark and mid-wash denim will look just as at home with bohemian paisley, ruffles and fringe as it will with a baby tee and hoop earrings.

Capris are classics, so it’s no surprise that the most sought-after pairs are either black or white (we've done the research) – but they both have different vibes. If black capri pants are office sirens, white pairs are holiday girlies. If you’re feeling flats instead, the possibilities are pretty close to endless. Is there a better piece of jewellery for capri pants than an anklet? If there is, we don’t want to know. A delicate gold chain sandwiched between capris and kitten heels is a subtle but unmistakably polished finishing touch. Layer up a few for a beachy look if you’re wearing your flip-flops. Elsewhere, you can lean into the nostalgic theme with a headscarf knotted over your hair – think retro prints like leopard or polka dot.
