ASOS INSIDERS WEAR THE SIMPSONS x ASOS DESIGN
By Lakeisha Goedluck, 23 August 2018
Unless you live under a rock, or somewhere obscure like Little Pwagmattasquarmsettport, you’ll remember coming home after school to watch The Simpsons on BBC Two. A seminal animated series rife with cultural references and quick gags, the show has been entertaining audiences since it first aired in 1989. In homage to its unique style, we’ve created a unisex The Simpsons x ASOS DESIGN collection to have you feeling ultra nostalgic.
From Groundskeeper Willie getting greased up to travel through the school’s air vents to capture Santa’s Little Helper, to Homer strutting naked through church after thinking he’s the last man left on earth – we owe The Simpsons for some epic TV memories. So, if you thought a Flaming Moe's was ingenious, take a look at this 90s-inspired range that borrows design elements from the best bits of the series.
Here, ASOS Nawal and ASOS Joshua prove how easy it is to style this standout collection. Sporting T-shirts that reference iconic scenes, (recognise that Homer disappearing into a bush meme?), the guys pair their tees with printed denim shorts that draw upon graphics used in the opening sequence. To finish, socks and sliders keep their ensembles laid-back and warm-weather ready. Meanwhile, ASOS Olive rocks a long-sleeved top featuring the inimitable Patty and Selma, which she wears with Bart Simpson-shaped earrings.
Now, this vibrant printed top that ASOS Sophia is rocking will instantly inject your summer 'fits with some much-needed colour – and have you feeling like Mr Burns in that ‘See My Vest!’ dance number, trust.
However, if you'd rather pay tribute to the show in a slightly more subtle but equally steezy way, the Kwik-E-Mart-inspired bucket hat that ASOS Scarlett is donning is definitely the one. Your wardrobe will thank you – in fact, you might even hear it say: ‘Everything's coming up Milhouse.’
