Skater style has been riding its way up the style agenda for a few seasons now, and it's only getting bigger. From oversized 90s-inspired cuts to classic Vans kicks, filling your wardrobe with skate-ready pieces is the way forward. So, if you’re up for rolling with the aesthetic for the rest of summer, why not grab yourself a pair of long denim shorts? Check out how our two ASOS Insiders are rocking the skatewear staple below for inspiration.

If you have a scroll through ASOS Ruddy's Instagram, you’ll quickly notice that he’s a big fan of fluorescent colours. Case in point: this old-school skater steez look, complete with an oversized, long-sleeved tie-dye top in a popping palette. Down low, he opts for long denim shorts with distressed patches and a badge for an additional nod to the 90s grunge aesthetic. He ties it all together with a neon-hued cap and finishes off his getup with a pair of white kicks to balance out his upper half. How’s that for a bright idea?

For proof that the streetwear-meets-skatewear aesthetic is still going strong, feast your eyes on ASOS Joshua's outfit. Unlike Ruddy, he keeps it simple with an oversized emergency-orange hoodie layered over a white T-shirt. A pair of staple light-wash denim skater shorts adorn his bottom half along with a slick pair of Nike SB Zoom Stefan Janoski trainers (notice how the colour of the tick matches his hoodie). Accessories-wise, he opts for a basic black cap and a complementary cross-body bag for a road-ready finish to his laid-back look.
