ADIDAS ORIGINALS PROPHERE: NEW TRICKS FROM THE TREFOIL

We’re used to adidas closing out the year with a bang – first it was Stan, then NMD, and most recently EQT – but that doesn’t stop us getting hyped each and every time. This December, it’s the Prophere. So, we hooked up with Peigh Asante and Lauren Edmondson from London athletic collective Swim Dem Crew for a look at the drop. 

Sharply-shaped, futuristic, form-fitting sneakers have been the story of 2017, but the Prophere might just have perfected the formula. Between the oversized sculpted sole unit, the three stripe lace cage and the glitch-camo Primeknit upper, it’s easy to see why adi are calling it their boldest step yet. As one of the founders of Swim Dem Crew, Peigh knows all about those.

When injury forced him to give up running, he formed a new pack in the pool rather than the pavement. Since then, Swim Dem Crew has blown up into a community that goes way beyond Monday night relay sessions. For Peigh and Lauren, swimming began as a vehicle for uniting a group of like-minded individuals, who now ‘eat together, travel together, party together.’
