4 NEW WAYS TO WEAR OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS
By Maybelle Morgan, 7 October 2017
What's the most 80s thing you can think of right now? Slouch boots, right? Well, they're back and have had the OK from actress and big-time street-style aficionado Olivia Culpo. To avoid your outfit becoming too bulky, though, keep everything else streamlined by pairing the boots with tights and a mini dress. Shoulder pads optional.
Pointed shape – check. Glossy leather – check. Comfy slouchy finish, plus a sassy midi heel – all the checks. Take notes from Culpo and wear with a black structured mini dress with a nipped-in waist. Then, add red accessories and you’re good to go.

If comfort is key, (literally) follow in the footsteps of Italian stylist Diletta Bonaiuti. Here, over-the-knee boots gain stamina with a flat heel, but the look gets jazzed up with subtle colour (grey would work just as well as navy). With dark legs, you can afford to go brighter with the rest of your getup, so match with a white mini and chunky graphic sweat.
All day, all night, these grey over-the-knees are a girly-but-comfy solution to autumn footwear. The charcoal shade adds a softly-softly dose of colour, so for a chic evening look, add a PVC mini and a cropped jumper.

If you’ve ever wondered what a seriously wow pair of legs look like, it’s these PVC-swathed beauties. Singaporean street-style star Yoyo Cao knows that less is more if what you’re working with brings the heat. In this case, all that’s needed is a leather belted trench clashed up with 80s-tastic acid-orange booties that disappear into the skirt of the mac. One simple box clutch seals the deal.
To get your own power stride, enlist the help of these RAID over-the-knee boots in engine red. The tight sock fit amps up the dressy factor, while the chunkier heel provides wear-all-day stamina. Pair with a black leather mac for a statement weekend look.
Head over heel
In a dream world, all our 'add to bags' would be multipurpose and, in the case of OTK boots with a heel, that’s exactly what you get. Warm? Yes. Glam? Oh yes. Take notes from this blogger and use yours to regulate your temperature, enabling you to go sans tights. Pair with a black roll neck, leather mini and add colour with a teal overcoat.
Trust us when we say, black boots are (and will always be) an all autumn, all winter long staple. Props to the comfy block heel and snug fit, which ups the wear-with-everything factor.ASOS KINGSHIP heeled over-the-knee boots, £50
