STYLE AND CULTURE

MEET THE ICONS OF THE NEW SEASON

This season, we’re celebrating personal style through the lens of three up-and-comers. Actors Sonny and Hayden, and Muay Thai fighter Bambi, are all shaping culture by standing apart. We captured each of them in conversation as they shared their thoughts on the transformative power of clothing. Whether it’s inhabiting a character or shaping an art form, the clothes they wear tell the world who they are – and who they want to be.

Our spring/summer 2026 collection is designed to amplify these voices – the everyday people who make ASOS their own. With four edits tailored to individual aesthetics, there’s something for every wardrobe. Whether you’re searching for sports-coded staples, elevated tailoring or refreshing takes on familiar favourites – the icons of our new-season collection use clothes as words to tell their style stories. Scroll to hear them.

Muay Thai fighter Bambi is no stranger to discipline. Having established a firm presence in the ring – he won the WMC Muay Thai World Title in 2024 – the France-born, Thailand-based athlete sees clothes as a tool for embodying inner strength. But for Bambi, clothes are also a craft, much like his sport.

'I started boxing because I love the artistic vision of it. I’m a very aesthetic fighter, I love the technique and movement, and I approach fashion in a similar way.' Bambi describes the rhythm and fluidity required in Muay Thai, two strategies that he considers central to personal style.

Outside of the ring, Bambi continues to use clothes as a tool for experimenting. They help him express his self-assurance – evidenced by his love of relaxed silhouettes. 'In my downtime, I wear oversized clothes to feel comfortable and confident.' Bambi is certain of who he is, something his role as a model and fighter has helped him develop. Through both career paths, his body has served as a creative canvas: 'Being dressed by others has opened my mind to the possibility of style. I feel more comfortable experimenting with fashion and creating new versions of myself.'

Liverpool-born actor Sonny believes style is all about individuality. Like Bambi’s role as a fighter, acting has allowed him to carve out new ideas of self. Each character provides a new means of storytelling and an extension of his personal identity.

'I’m always taking elements from characters I’ve played and worlds I’ve been a part of – curating my style through them,' he says. Sonny’s breakout role as Adam in the Channel 4 thriller The Gathering is a great example.

Clothes are central to his craft, shaping how his characters come to life and allowing him to hold on to them in some way. 'I sometimes keep pieces from previous roles. My last job was set in the 80s, and all the old-school trench coats and sneakers were so much fun to wear. I’ve integrated them into my own wardrobe.'

But while style can help Sonny step into a role, the 29-year-old believes it’s rooted in truth over performance. This authenticity is something he’s drawn from his hometown: 'Liverpool has influenced my style in a lot of ways. People are predominantly sporty and relaxed, and football is a huge part of the fashion culture.'

Ultimately, Sonny says, ‘Whatever I decide to wear reflects my mood in that moment. It’s a true reflection of who I am underneath everything else.'

Like Sonny, Hayden is an actor (you might have seen him in All’s Fair on Disney+) – but having been born and raised in LA, his approach to style is slightly different. He reaches for relaxed tank tops and jeans, elevated workwear and lightweight shades that reflect his cool, West Coast attitude.

Hayden uses these clothes to communicate with the world around him. 'Clothes allow you to understand a person, and a character, in a much deeper way,' he says. According to Hayden, how we show up in the world is emboldened by the pieces we wear. Fashion is an emotional language that changes as we do: 'Everybody has their own definition of style.'

But similarly to Sonny, Hayden believes clothes are just a vehicle for expression – that it’s ultimately who we are that tells the real story. 'When I’m getting dressed, I’ve got to decide what character I want to be that day. They’re all versions of myself, but clothes allow me to inhabit a different side of my personality.' Whether he’s performing on screen or relaxing in his downtime, Hayden’s clothes are central to his story.
