BEAUTY

THE TEA ON THE TRENDING LASH & BROW SERUM

We’ve been soooo excited for The Ordinary’s new Lash & Brow serum to drop (exclusively on ASOS, btw). Bushy brows and gorge long lashes are, and will always be on trend (except for the skinny brow blip in the 90s, but let’s forget about that) and this newbie promises us lusher lashes and beaut brows. But does it deliver? To find out, we undertook a lil ASOS experiment 🧪🔬 and asked five ASOSers to test the serum for 6 weeks. Now *drumroll plz* here are the results, along with summer skin and brow tips from everyone 🧑‍🔬

First impressions, what did you think of the serum?
I’ve absolutely loved using The Ordinary’s Lash and Brow Serum. I’m excited to have found an affordable growth serum that has amazing results! My Brows are definitely fuller! By week 5 you could see the difference on my lashes too.

They say it takes 6 weeks to create a habit and you’ve been applying this serum for that long now. Can you think of any skills or habits you’ve picked up in that time?
In my dreams I picked up a 6-week fitness challenge but, in reality, I totally didn’t! I’m just proud I’ve stuck to using my serum properly because I love it 😍

Other than The Ordinary’s new serum, what Face + Body faves are you using on repeat rn?
SPF, of course! It’s an absolute MUST HAVE all year round. Not just for summer plz everyone. But aside from that, I will always carry a mist with me so I can stay hydrated and get that extra glow-on-the-go.

What did you think of The Ordinary’s new serum?
I loved it! I’m always quite skeptical about lash and brow growth serums as I’ve never noticed much difference, but I was so surprised at how much of a difference it made. My family and friends keep commenting on my lashes and brows!

What is your summer makeup vibe? Are you paring things back or do you bring full-on festival glam?
I love a light, dewy makeup look for summer  nothing too heavy! I start with the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer and always go for a lightweight powder foundation with a touch of bronzer and golden eyeshadow with a brown liner. Oh, and plenty of blush!

Other than The Ordinary’s new serum, what Face + Body faves are you using on repeat rn?
I’m a huge fan of Bali Body products. I try to keep my face out the sun, so love their Face Tan Water to get a golden glow on my face. I’ll also use their shimmering Body Oil to prolong my tan (for a couple weeks!!!) after a holiday.

What did you think about The Ordinary’s new serum?
I loved the packaging and it was super easy to carry with me, in case I forgot to apply it one day and wanted to do it on the go! The application was tricky to get the hang of at first, but I got there in the end.

Brow trends have come and gone over the years; did you ever take part?
Oh yes! Growing up in the era of thin eyebrows I did try plucking. Then I had the “genius idea” of using a razor instead because I thought it would be easier. It wasn’t! I ended up shaving them to half the size and felt like a bit of an idiot for a couple of weeks until they grew out and never touched them again after that!

Alongside The Ordinary’s serum, what Face + Body faves do you love to use in your summer skin routine?
I couldn’t live without SPF; I apply it for all seasons. I never leave home without my Elizabeth Arden 8-hour lip treatment! I also use an SPF spritz for my hair, too.

What did you think about The Ordinary’s new serum?
I'm new to lash stuff and was worried about poking myself in the eye – but it’s SO easy to use! It dries really quickly so you’re not left with watery eyes or brows, and it goes on over other products (like moisturiser or SPF) so easily.

They say it takes 6 weeks to create a habit and you’ve been applying this serum for that long now. Can you think of any skills or habits you’ve picked up in that time?
I’ve recently started going to cycle classes. As I’ve gone to more sessions I’ve found it becoming routine and found myself getting stronger with it 💪

Other than The Ordinary’s new serum, what Face + Body faves are you using on repeat rn?
Where do I start?! I’m currently OBSESSED with Garnier’s Ambre Solaire Ultra-Light Sensitive Face Fluid SPF50+, it’s so light and doesn’t leave an awful residue. I use it over Cerave’s Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Plumping Moisturising Cream for refreshed and sun ready skin. Also, I can’t talk about summer skin without mentioning Sol de Janeiro – if you’re not using the Bum Bum Cream by now, you're missing out. Oh, and if you want the healthy hair to match your glowing summer skin, use The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA for Hair – believe the hype around this product. It’s so nourishing!

What did you think of The Ordinary’s new serum?
I was worried about how it would interact with my makeup at first, because you have to use it morning and night, but it’s worked SO well for me. And I don’t think wearing it under makeup has slowed it down. It also dries clear, which is handy for the daytime.

Have you ever had any brow disasters?
*Shudders* Yes, I savagely plucked my poor brows into oblivion throughout my teen years. Luckily, they did grow back but I’ve always struggled with re-growth – especially on the outer parts. I found that this serum really helped! I’m now living my authentic bushy brow life, lol ✨

What is your summer makeup vibe? Are you paring things back or do you bring full-on festival glam?
I normally try to make myself look as glowy as possible  I’m all about that dewy skin look! Also, I love to use creamy blush and Charlotte Tilbury bronzer on top of my NARS Tinted Moisturiser. In general, I normally wear less makeup in the summer, although I'm all for festival glam too, obvs.
