CAUGHT SERVING: MATT SMITH AT THE CAUGHT STEALING PREMIERE
By Ayis Stephen-Diver, 27 August 2025
More noise is necessary for Matt Smith’s mod era. The Doctor Who and House of the Dragon actor has cycled his way through endless looks and aesthetics, but nothing hits quite like the retro crop haircut, Neo-from-The-Matrix sunglasses and oversized tailoring he styled for the Caught Stealing premiere. Matt’s a fashion chameleon both on and off the set – his character in the new film dons a yellow mohawk that suits Matt unsurprisingly well – but he went for something more classic and grounded in his British roots for the red carpet.

Matt moved away from the typical tuxedo and leaned into 20th-century suave with a colour-drenched suit for the premiere, headlined by an oversized blazer that dramatically sculpts his shoulders. The slightly flared trousers and penny loafers breathe fresh life into the look – chunky statement loafers have taken over runways recently, but Matt makes a case for clean minimalism with his shoe choice (and wins).
