It’s *officially* autumn, the clocks are going back, and weirdly, we’re looking forward to darker evenings? It means cosy nights in on the sofa. Speaking of, we’re here to tell you everything worth your time this month. So, whether it’s Netflix that’s solely on the agenda or something that involves actually leaving the house, don’t worry – we’ve got you covered.

HEARTSTOPPER SEASON 3: 3 OCTOBER

It’s been a whole year since season 2 of Heartstopper aired, so where are we leaving off from? [spoiler alert] In the season 2 finale, we learn of Charlie’s [played by Joe Locke] mental health struggles. Heartstopper’s creator and writer, Alice Oseman, has said the show will be exploring darker, more mature themes this time around, but it will be equally heart-wrenching and heart-warming as we see how the characters develop and support eachother.

 

OUTER BANKS SEASON 4: 10 OCTOBER

The Pogues are back, promising new enemies, old treasure and plenty of action-packed scenes along the way. Catch drop one on the 10 October, with drop two landing on 7 November. If that’s not enough, we have a Reclaimed Vintage collab dropping with OBX on the same day. Coincidence? (Obviously not). Keep your eyes peeled for our chat with the show’s costume designer, Emmie Holmes.

JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX: 4 OCTOBER

This highly anticipated sequel is finally upon us – just in time to serve some Halloween costume inspo, too. Joaquin Phoenix returns as Arthur Fleck AKA Joker, and while he awaits trial for his crimes, meets Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn.

 

LONELY PLANET: 11 OCTOBER

This year has seen both Anne Hathaway and Nicole Kidman play roles in an older-woman-younger-man love affair in The Idea of You and A Family Affair. If you loved them as much as we did, make way for Lonely Planet, starring Laura Dern and Liam Hemsworth. From the same writer of Erin Brockovich, Lonely Planet is a romance that sees a novelist [Laura Dern] attending a writer’s retreat in Morocco, where she meets Hemsworth, and the rest? You’ll have to see for yourself.

We’ve had pop-girl summer, but it looks like we’re making way for pop-boy autumn with Shawn Mendes and Finneas both releasing albums this month. So, what can we expect? Shawn Mendes has already released three singles from his self-titled fifth album, Shawn, and we’re getting folky, country vibes – definitely an autumn album. Finneas’ alt-pop sound is equally mellow, if not more boppy on the title track for his upcoming album, For Cryin’ Out Loud.
