By Lakeisha Goedluck, 22 April 2018
Taking style tips from the 90s has been the sartorial zeitgeist for a while now, and for SS18, the general vibe is the baggier, the better. From oversized sportswear separates to loose-fitting skater-style jeans, here’s how to switch up your silhouette for spring.
To emulate the style, go for a laid-back crewneck sweat with bold lettering like this one from Tommy Jeans. On your bottom half, opt for checked trews to give your ensemble a preppy edge. Finish your look with a casual pair of Converse trainers in the same colour as your trousers to keep your look uniform.
Over the last few seasons, 90s skater style has fully made a comeback. Work pants, baggy jeans and graphic-print tees have become wardrobe staples for the sartorially savvy, so it’s a good time to get on board with the tropes if you want to up your style game for SS18.
Start off with a checkerboard print T-shirt – a signature pattern when it comes to skatewear – and wear your tee with a pair of wide-leg light-wash jeans. Pop on some retro Reebok kicks to add a streetwear edge to your ‘fit and tie a check jumper around your body to show that you’re skilled when it comes to playing around with prints.
