SAVE THESE HUNGER GAMES PRESS TOUR LOOKS FOR YOUR NEXT PARTY RSVP

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the latest instalment of The Hunger Games is getting the big-screen treatment – and the press tour has already delivered some seriously memorable fashion moments. Sunrise on the Reaping had its UK premiere in London this week, with stars including McKenna Grace and Elle Fanning dazzling the red carpet in intricate embellished designs. They’re just the latest in a long-line of head-turning looks that are giving our party-season moodboard a much-needed boost. From elaborate accessories to floral sequins and the ultimate red dress (inspired by The Hunger Games' mother herself, Jennifer Lawrence) you’ll want to add these to your inspo folder stat. Your next RSVP won’t know what hit it.

THE RED DRESS

Red dresses

We thought we were seeing double when McKenna Grace stepped out in this plunging red dress. But blink twice and you’ll see the rising star has turned to her forebearers for red-carpet inspo. This figure-hugging gown is an almost-replica of Jennifer Lawrence’s first Oscars dress, complete with a matching blonde blow-out and scarce accessories. First worn by Jennifer back in 2011, Mckenna’s take proves a simple evening look will stand the test of time.

SCULPTURAL SILHOUETTES

Sculptural Dresses

Elle Fanning takes accessorising seriously – Effie Trinket would certainly approve. Her eye-catching hat stole the show at Sunrise on the Reaping’s London premiere. While we can’t see a ballerina sculpted headpiece in our near future, Elle certainly made a case for sculpted dresses. Her pink gown featured a cinched waist and dramatic sweetheart neckline, emulating the same music-box ballet dancer featured on her head. Dramatic though it may be, this pink look taps one of the season’s biggest impending trends – pink – and proves, yet again, that cinched-waist pieces are going nowhere.

Embellished Dresses

Whoever said winter was a time for winding down clearly had a sparse social calendar (and a lack of imagination). Shorter days might make for longer lie-ins, but they also usher in after-dark style – also known as the most fun form of dressing. McKenna’s latest press look puts festive fashion into practice, featuring a hand-embellished floral landscape inspired by the arena in the upcoming film. Let this be your reminder that more is more where party season is concerned. And if you haven’t added an embellished dress to your wishlist, need we say more?
