CAMO IS THE ANTI-JEANS TREND WE CAN ALL GET BEHIND

Fashion Month is a good benchmark for tracking the autumn trends, falling right at the turn of the seasons. The first shows kicked off earlier this month with Copenhagen (the unofficial fifth city on the Fashion Month calendar). CFW is usually famed for Scandi minimalism, where simple but sophisticated wardrobes reign supreme. But that wasn't the case this year. Turns out the sharp tailored trousers and elevated jeans of late walked so an unexpected staple could run: camo print.

Camo was the unlikely hero of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
For a nation whose favourite pastime is munching pastries, I can’t say this military-inspired trend was high on my bingo card for Copenhagen. But camo has cast its spell far beyond Denmark. From Alexa Chung’s unexpected take to an influx of utility street style, it’s easy to see why the 00s print is enjoying a comeback. If nothing else, it makes a fun break from familiar pieces. If you’re new to camo print, start with accessories. Trucker hats have that same relaxed-yet-bolshy energy to them, great for peppering your daily looks with a bit of military flair. Crisp leaves mean one thing: the search for autumn’s jacket begins in earnest. 2026 is the year of the trophy jacket – meaning layers that are loud and proud about it. Utility prints like camo were made for outerwear, especially bomber jackets and collared styles. Temperatures might be dropping, but we’re far from done with shorts. After one of the warmest summers on record, Bermudas are enjoying an extended stint in the spotlight – and thanks to an elongated cut they make the ideal transitional piece. I’m loving a camo short paired with heeled flip flops and a blouse in similar earthy green. It’s a modern, tom-boyish spin on colour block dressing that feels adventurous yet still intentional.
