YOU'VE GOT TO TRY OUT THESE VIRAL MAKEUP TRENDS THIS SPRING

Is social media feeding you an influx of spring makeup looks? If so, you’ve probably noticed a great shift: clean-girl is out, colour is back in. The likes of Sophia Sinot, Painted by Esther and more acclaimed celebrity MUAs are breathing fresh life into makeup – more editorial and elevated, more fab instead of drab. And if you want to get in on all the fun, you’re in the right place. We’ve got all the key spring makeup trends to know below – all you need to do is scroll.

#1: INVISIBLE LASHES

After Pamela Anderson and Charli xcx, the latest celeb to make minimalist makeup her signature look is Pink Pantheress. Whether it’s a music video or red-carpet cameo, she’s all about the au naturelle aesthetic: a barely-there base and a nude lip to match. Another pillar of the look is ghost lashes – it’s rare to catch Pink with falsies or dramatic mascara. We’ve already done a deep dive on the ghost lashes trend, but TLDR: it’s all about minimal strokes of mascara (experiment with brown mascaras too for an even more natural look) that just about shows up on camera, enhancing the natural shape of the eye rather than concealing it.

#2: RHINESTONE EYES

Rhinestone gems

With Euphoria back on our screens, rhinestone eyes are enjoying the spotlight once again. Celebrity MUA Sophia Sinot continues to inspire – she’s bejewelled the eyes of everyone from Zara Larsson to KATSEYE, turning it into her signature look. Oh, and with festival season on the horizon, there’s no better time to whip out the gems and place them strategically on your eyelid, lashline or wherever you feel like catching the sunshine.

We’re in a glossy era. Doechii recently dazzled in a Makeup by Chelsea special: glossy lips and even glossier eyes. The resurgence of glossy eyeshadow is one of the season’s most exciting comebacks, and it’s delightfully easy to recreate. All you need is some clear lip gloss (top tip: sparkly clear is even better for any spring RSVPs) and a light touch so you don’t smudge your eyeshadow. And don’t worry about sticky blinks – the look is surprisingly comfortable and looks incredible in pictures.

#4: RETURN OF THE MATTE

Meanwhile, matte finishes are also enjoying a revival. As 2026 is the new 2016, it’s hardly surprising that some are swapping out the glazed-donut lustre for a more airbrushed aesthetic instead. Matte no longer means dry, either. Thankfully, myriad brands are infusing hydrating ingredients into their matte formulations, so you can capitalise on the trend without that dreaded chalky feeling. Lipsticks like MAC’s MACximal and Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution range glide on effortlessly, delivering a flawless finish that won’t accentuate your lip creases. Rising beauty icons Olandria Carthen and Tyla have even championed the matte look for high-profile occasions – this is your sign to give it a go.

#5: PEACHY CHEEKS

Step aside pink, there’s a new must-have blush shade in town. Peach and coral hues are looking more and more like the palette of choice for your cheeks. They offer a vibrant, natural and sun-kissed glow that’s universally flattering on all skin tones. Hunter Schafer showcases the fresh-flush effect on fair skin, but darker complexions would look just as radiant. Instead of a lighter peach, pick something punchier – liquid formulas often come with more concentrated pigments – and gently build it onto the apples of your cheeks, sweeping slightly upwards towards your temples.
