This summer's biggest swimwear trends are pulled straight from the noughties.

The 2026 ‘kini queen is – thus far – uncrowned, but we’re still keen to get ahead of the holiday rush and update our swimwear arsenal. So, what trends should be on our packing list? Turns out Dua’s nostalgic two-pieces, from studded designs to old-school Burberry check, are set for a second run: this summer is heading back to the 2000s. The Aussie surfer styles of 2002-2003 slowly took over the globe thanks to stars like Kate Bosworth, whose penchant for a waterproof boy short transformed the simple bikini into a sporty must-have. If the late 2000s had a soundtrack, it would have to be the Mamma Mia! score. The jukebox musical catapulted Amanda Seyfried to international fame thanks to her blonde curls and dulcet tones. Soon, the 2000s became the 2010s, Tumblr took over the zeitgeist, and we all fell in love with bubble-gum grunge.
