AT PARIS HAUTE COUTURE WEEK, THESE LOOKS TURNED HEADS

For fashion lovers, clothes are food for the soul. While Fashion Month provides a mezze of indulgences, Haute Couture Week delivers the cherry on top. If we thought the Paris menswear shows had satiated us, seven days of Parisian Haute Couture have stretched the limits of our appetite – feeding us with renewed vigour. From Jonathan Anderson and Matthieu Blazy’s inaugural Couture presentations for Dior and Chanel, to the most imaginative and complex designs from across the industry, Paris has transformed into a sartorial feast. And the star-studded guest list dressed accordingly. If you’re peckish for some style inspiration, keep scrolling.

Pink fans, rejoice – for the shade was everywhere this week. Bubblegum pink to be precise. Flirty, frilly, fluffy – you name it. The shade covered most visible surfaces, from the Chanel runway to the Valentino front row. Olivia Neill proudly picked up the pink gauntlet with this neat two-piece, accented by faux-fur hems and lace tights. A pastel dream that would've kept Jackie Kennedy’s tailor busy, the soft-blue heels and pearl-encrusted bag complete a look that’s sweet enough to eat.

Never one to shy away from a bold print, Dua Lipa wasted no time jumping on new Blazy-era Chanel. With the designer now at the helm, France’s most famous fashion house has been hailed as one of renewed fun and unlimited joy – aptly proven by Dua’s vibrant skirt suit. This dazzling print and colour-combo conjure images of Coco Chanel at an acid house rave. If that doesn’t get you smiling, we don’t know what will.

ELISABETTA DESSY

Italian model and former Olympian Elisabetta cast her vote for tomato red with this Valentino look. We’ve seen endless iterations of the quilted jacket since they made a comeback, but this cropped satin silhouette feels both vintage and fresh. Matching bow heels bookend the ensemble and throws a welcome spanner in the works against a pair of black leggings. A case study in what shouldn’t work but does, we hope to see more creative spins on red as the colour leads this season.

QUENLIN BLACKWELL

Another standout look from the Chanel show, this tartan two-piece features the finest details from Blazy’s couture debut. Sheer fabric delicate enough to catch your breath, embroidered with sprawling checks and feather-light yarns. We’re obsessed with this modern take on heritage which embraces the house codes of tweed and classic plaid. It’s exciting to see some of winter’s biggest trends reimagined for the coming seasons, and Quenlin’s use of metallic accessories injects a youthful spirit we’ll be taking notes from.

LILY ALLEN

This West End girl made Paris her stage with a deliciously kooky look from Valentino. No stranger to clashing prints, Lily dialled up her maximalist instincts with this bold ensemble. From the velvet green skirt to the polka dot blouse (an ode to her viral album cover, perhaps?), we’re so here for the granny chic vibes this ‘fit is giving. Old-fashioned? More like old-Hollywood.
