THE COSY ESSENTIALS TO HUNKER DOWN WITH THIS SEASON
By Flo Bellinger, 29 September 2025
Second to overhauling our knitwear collection, autumn’s greatest promise is a cosy evening routine. Of course, there’s still plenty to head out of the house for – and party season’s impending arrival means that post-summer social lull won’t last long. But taking the time to reset and refresh is currently top of the to-do list. And honestly, who needs an excuse? After a long day crunching numbers, getting that bread, and putting the world to rights, the prospect of slipping into something fluffy and treating yourself to a pamper sounds rather nice. In that vein, we’ve compiled a go-to list of essentials for your next indulgent night in. From self-care staples to the ultimate pyjama set, wind down and keep scrolling…
A CUTE DRESSING GOWN

Nothing makes jumping out of bed so easy. Our love affair with the duvet might be flourishing right now, but saying goodbye to that cosy cocoon is a lot less daunting with a dressing gown nearby. Consider it the wearable duvet, if you will. And while these bedroom staples may not have read ‘stylish’ in the past, a flurry of bold prints and colours have cemented the dressing gown as autumn’s most sought-after accessory. Whether it’s trending stripes or plaid, lightweight towelling or full-blown faux-fur, there are plenty of reasons to invest in this cold-weather sidekick.

REALLY GOOD PYJAMAS

For all the effort we pour into our winter wardrobe, this season usually consists of 70% loungewear – so it’s only right we put some thought into it. They might not get much airtime, but a good pyjama set is the secret to feeling like you’re on top of things. After all, what’s more rock and roll than greeting the postman in a spotless two-piece? A classic button down co-ord will always serve a purpose, while satin styles provide the kind of experience usually reserved for 5-star hotels. And if you’re a particularly restless sleeper? A soft-touch set can withstand the wildest dreams and wrinkles all night long.

OTT SKINCARE

Once you’ve pinned down the ensemble, attention turns to evening skincare. The slower pace of autumn welcomes more time in front of the bathroom mirror – so this is a great chance to add some indulgent flourishes to your usual pre-bed pamper. Think sheet masks, lip oils, and rich body lotions. Sudden weather changes are also sure to dry out your skin barrier, so nourishment is key – and when it comes to luxurious scents like the Ouai’s St Barts, we don’t need to be asked twice.

NIGHT-TIME FRAGRANCE

Speaking of scent, don’t sleep on an evening fragrance (well, actually that’s exactly what we’d recommend). Spritzing your boudoir with a warming perfume is a simple way to elevate the average evening, and diving into sweet-smelling bedding is truly the stuff of dreams. We’re reaching for heavier vanilla notes as the nights get cooler, and these lavender and chamomile incense sticks are a one-way ticket to peaceful sleep. But if you’d rather keep things light, a body spray is your best friend.
