Benefit’s back with not 1, not 2, but 12 new lip tints, all infused with lip-loving hyaluronic acid for 8 hours of wear. There’s 6 Splashtints, a dewy finish, juicy-looking product, and 6 Plushtints, the matte, velvety-finish sister of the latter. So you can get the goss on exactly how these differ and what they’ll look like on your skin tone, we’ve enlisted ASOS Insiders Barri and Grace to try on some shades and offer their opinions. BARRI-ALLISON, WEARING BENEFIT SPLASHTINTS
Hey, Barri-Allison! How comfortable did the Splashtints feel on your lips?
Very moisturising! I think mainly due to the hyaluronic acid, it didn’t accentuate fine lines on my lips, but smoothed them out more. As it’s not a gloss or oil I wasn’t expecting a super-high shine, but I was pleasantly surprised. The dewy finish looked fresh and not overbearing.
You’re a medium-deep skin tone – do you think these colours complement you?
Yes! I tend to gravitate towards richer, more saturated tones in lip products. Skinny Dip enhanced the natural shade of my lips, while Tutti Frutti made me look like I just took a trip to the tropics and bit into a cherry – I can see where the name came from! All the colours were *just* right; not too dark, not too bright.
We love that for you! What do you look for most in a lip product?
I’m really big on makeup products that are skincare-infused, so I can feel the effects even when they’re wiped off. With goji berry seed oil and raspberry leaf extract, my lips felt super moisturised, so these are going to be a summer staple! P.S., they also taste nice!

Hi Grace! What did you think about the feel of the Plushtints?
They were super smooth and lightweight, I love all of Benefit’s *iconic* tint formulas, so I could almost immediately tell that these were going to be good! These have glycerin and hyaluronic acid for extra moisture.
Definitely! How did these work with your skin tone?
I prefer nudes/neutral tones to reds or deep pinks – they’re a bit too harsh for my fair skin tone (and clash with my orange hair!). I’m also really into lip combos, so shades like Cream Puff are great as I can layer it over a light brown liner for a gorgeous everyday look! Fuzzy Slippers was definitely my fave – it’s a toned-down but flattering pink for more glam days.
What do you look for most in a lip product? Did the Plushtints deliver?
I look for longevity – I do my makeup early in the morning before work, so I always want to feel assured that the colour’s still on my lips when the day ends! I also tend to replace my lip balms with lip products so they *have* to be hydrating, and these impressed me.
