Celebrity MUA Diane Buzzetta (she's behind a lot of Hailey Bieber's flushed looks) placed her bets on glowier, balmier blush as makeup moves towards an uber-hydrated aesthetic. Use these glaze drops underneath your foundation, and strike the perfect blush/highlighter balance by gently tapping them onto your cheekbones, cupids bow and below your eyebrows once your makeup's done. We love a skin-like finish.

This look gained traction at the tail end of 2023 and is most effective on deeper skin tones, although any will work. Either let the purple POP alongside a more natural beat, or go all out with editorial-style eye and lip combos. Use about 2-3 dots of the blush and blend it outwards from your cheeks up to your temples for that 2017 Rihanna Met Gala look.

MAC Mineralize Blush - Bubbles Please, £28

To nail this hyper-femme look, a light-pink blush + matte base + minimal contouring is the formula. Reach for a large powder brush and blend in an almost vertical line from your temples down to the apples of your cheeks. We love a slightly shimmery powder blush for this look, which pairs well with a juicy light-pink lip gloss and falsies.

Benefit Wanderful World Powder Blusher - Butterfly, £31

This trend captures the "flushed and embarrassed" look reminiscent of moments with your crush. Use a generous amount of red or deep orange powder blush on your cheeks and under eyes, and a gentle sweep across your nose bridge. For a youthful touch à la a 20-something Devon Aoki, dot on some faux freckles with a brown brow pencil or freckle pen. If you're already freckled, consider keeping the foundation/concealer ultra-light so they can have their moment.
