MEET THE TREND YOU'LL BE WEARING ALL SEASON
By Emma Strawbridge, 4 March 2024
From the runway to celeb street style and even the rugby pitch (yes, really), this season we’re seeing stripes everywhere. So, let’s break down why you need to invest and how to wear them for SS24.
THE INSPO:
HOW WE'RE WEARING STRIPES FOR SPRING:
#1. RUGBY STYLE
ASOS DESIGN long sleeve rugby collar mini dress with tuck in navy stripe, £32
Rugby shirts have made a HUGE comeback, and we’re thanking the tomboy femme aesthetic that’s trending on our FYPs. Plus, we're loving the twist on the trend with this shirtdress c/o ASOS DESIGN.
#2. PREPPY VIBES
ASOS DESIGN knitted cardigan & mini skirt in navy stripe co-ord, from £26
Preppy details are an extension of the tomboy femme look: think shirts, pleated skirts, loafers etc. It's perfect for the girlies that prefer a more polished look – opt for a striped co-ord or smart separates with striped accents.
#3. SHIRTS
Topshop oversized stripe shirt in lime green, £38
Shirts are the uniform of the cool girls. Wear yours oversized with jorts for a relaxed feel, or team them with satin slip skirts for a quiet-luxury-inspired look.
#4. FOR EVENING
Nobody's Child Jack mini dress in horizontal stripe, £64
When it comes to evening looks, we'll be going for statement-making pieces like this Nobody's Child mini. P.S. The black and white candy stripe mirrors the monochrome looks that are all over the runways right now, so it's a double win.
