WHAT ARE THE BEST WINTER COATS FOR MEN?
There is no one-size-fits-all – but you probably already know this already. The best winter coat for you is the one you're most likely to wear. If that's too abstract an answer, consider this: what situations do you need your winter coat for? What fabrics and shape do you feel most comfortable in? What coat archetype suits you best? WHO MAKES GOOD QUALITY WINTER COATS?
Men's winter coats are generally built to be sturdy, but it's the right care that will make them last well beyond their expected use-by date, rather than specific brands. First: light and heat. If your coat gets soaked, don't leave it on top of a radiator to dry, as it can warp the fabric. Similarly, leaving it out in a sunny place 24/7 could fade it. Always read the care label. 'Dry clean only' means dry clean only. Second: heavy fabrics need sturdy hangers – wooden ones are best – and always use the tag loop for a coat hook instead of the collar, or you might find it eventually looks a bit wonky around the neck.
WHAT COLOUR WINTER COAT SHOULD I GO FOR?
Generally, there are six classic men's winter coat colours – black, grey, navy, brown, beige and navy. You will find that you simply cannot go wrong with these as they're the most versatile options.
