Meet Personal Stylist James

You’ve already met Kieron, now it’s time to get acquainted with our second menswear personal stylist, James Welsh. James studied advertising photography, but has been working as a stylist and personal shopper since leaving university. He loves his tailoring, but knows his way around the more casual areas of the ASOS site, too. What were the first pair of shoes you can remember really loving?
I had an amazing pair of burgundy Kickers with green laces when i was about 8/9! Everyone always teased me about them but I loved them. 
What item of clothing would you save if your wardrobe was on fire? 
Touch wood this never ever happens, but it would have to be my Burberry shirt. I’d sell it and re-buy the rest of my clothes with the money! 
What is your biggest fashion mistake/regret? 
I used to wear blue flares with a matching blue body warmer and a super-slick middle parting. It was cool at the time – I think! 
Who is your style icon and why? 
A Korean singer called Kwon Ji Yong. You couldn’t describe his style in one word because he's so versatile and just wears what he likes. I think that’s really important. If you narrow your style down to a certain category, you miss out on a lot of new and interesting things. You shouldn't have limitations when it comes to your own personal style.
