#1: IT'S BETTER TO BE OVERTRAINED THAN UNDERTRAINED
Obviously, it's absolutely vital to put in the miles on your long runs, but in the weeks running up to the big event, make sure you rest enough to avoid heavy legs on the day.
#2:BRING A CHANGE OF CLOTHES
Bring some comfy New Balance gear to change into afterwards – you don’t want to be stuck in your sweaty race-day outfit!

#3: DON'T TRY ANY NEW GELS, ENERGY DRINKS OR FOOD BEFORE THE RACE
You're stomach is going to be feeling pretty nervous on the day, so don't try anything new in terms of hydration and nutrition – just stick to what you know!
#4: STOCK UP ON SALTY SNACKS
You lose so much salt in your sweat while you're running, so it’s really important to have your favourite salty snack waiting for you as soon as you cross that finish line.

#5: ENJOY THE DAY!!
The atmosphere is *amazing* and it will carry you through when you need it most. Take a moment to notice the crowds and all the signs of encouragement. It's a big highlight of the day for me!
