Starter was founded back in 1971 by former basketball pro David Beckerman. What started out as a uniform manufacturer for high-school teams then turned into an apparel line picked up by the 90s hip-hop fraternity – that’s DJ Jazzy Jeff and Cuba Gooding Jnr. in his Boyz n the Hood days. We like the hoodies, classic satin jackets and baseball caps.
