EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GUCCI CRUISE 2025
May 14, 2024

Last night, Gucci held its annual Cruise show – Creative Director Sabato de Sarno's first – at London’s Tate Modern museum. So, naturally, we had to bring you all the tea. From the top-tier guest list to the top-notch fashion, and even some Normal People reuniting (!!), here’s the ASOS roundup of Gucci Cruise 2025!

1. THERE'S A REASON THE COLLECTION WAS SHOWN IN LONDON
The house's founder, Guccio Gucci, actually worked at the London Savoy Hotel in his boyhood, which is where the idea to create luxury leather luggage came about (specifically, in an elevator!). The Tate Modern was an ideal backdrop for a collection that read like a love letter to London, with English prep merging alongside refined Italian craftsmanship – exactly where the brand began.
2. THE SHEER TREND ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE
Sheer styles have been trending for a while now, but de Sarno played with hypermodern tech like 3D laser-cut organza to achieve an elevated take on the trend. Everything from transparent organza shirts worn under tailored suits to intricate 3-piece lace sets finished with embroidered flowers walked the runway – major inspo for your next getaway.

3. THE HOUSE'S ROOTS IN LEATHER GOODS SHONE THROUGH
Gucci started as a leather goods company, so it's easy to see why de Sarno made it a huge part of this collection. Highlights include the collared trucker jacket and ultra-oversized silhouettes with an embossed croc effect. The current fashion landscape roots for denim as the MVP of a look, but Gucci’s doubling down on leather.

4. THE DETAILS WERE ITALIAN TO THE CORE
In classic Gucci fashion, almost every look was topped off with obnoxiously large sunglasses – from blacked-out square pairs to 80s-inspired styles with colored rims, AKA the perfect accessories to ensure a cool-girl summer. Another nod to old-school Gucci was the Blondie bag, which appeared in several looks and originally debuted in the 70s. If this collection confirmed anything, it’s that Sabato de Sarno is just as obsessed with nostalgia as the rest of us.

5. BRITISH EASTER EGGS WERE WOVEN INTO THE COLLECTION
Nods to British fashion were subtly referenced throughout. Our favorites? The tartan-inspired patterns, which were created through layers of beaded fringing, and oversized leather Harrington jackets – a British silhouette created in the 30s for golfers, which later made its way into sports culture.

6. THE CELEBS SHOWED *UP*
It wouldn’t be a Gucci show without A-listers lining the front row. Celebrities kept close to the preppy dress code, with Gucci’s platform loafers being spotted on several stars and, of course, 70s vibes throughout. Bonus goss: former Normal People co-stars Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones reunited – if you can’t hear us right now, we’re internally screaming.
